How to Setup Custom Caller ID in ViciDial
Watch the full video walkthrough below, then follow the step-by-step instructions to configure Custom Caller ID on your ViciDial system.
What is a Custom Caller ID?
The Custom Caller ID option allows you to use the Miscellaneous or Security Phrase field in ViciDial as the outbound CallerID for each individual lead. This means a unique Caller ID must be added to each lead record as a separate column in your spreadsheet before you upload your leads to the list.
If this field contains no CID value, the dialer will automatically fall back to the Campaign CallerID instead.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
-
Prepare Your Leads Spreadsheet
Before uploading, verify that your spreadsheet includes a dedicated Caller ID column. This column must be mapped to the Security Phrase or Miscellaneous field in ViciDial during the upload process.
Important: Once leads are uploaded, they cannot be bulk-edited. You would need to edit each lead individually or re-upload the entire list to make corrections. Please refer to our tutorials on how to upload leads in ViciDial for full instructions.
-
Navigate to Your Campaign
After your leads are uploaded, log in to ViciDial and go to Campaigns in the administration panel.
-
Open Campaign Settings
Find the campaign you want to configure and click Modify.
-
Enable Custom CallerID
Scroll through the campaign settings and locate the field labelled “Custom CallerID”. Change the value to Y.
-
Save Your Changes
Click Save Changes to apply the new setting. Your campaign will now use the Caller ID stored in each lead’s Security Phrase / Miscellaneous field for outbound calls.
