VICIdial User Level Restriction: Walkthrough
Now that we’ve covered user levels and admin interface options in the eDialer system, here is a walkthrough of what these settings look like on the VICIdial page.
Step 1 — Select the VICIdial User Level
Just like in eDialer, this menu is where you select the VICIdial user level. Each level controls what the user can see and do within the system.
User Level Reference
- Level 1 — Logs the user into VICIdial.
- Level 2 or higher — Allows the user to take inbound calls.
- Level 7 or higher — Allows the user to view reports.
- Level 8 or 9 — Grants access to the admin web section.
⚠ Important Notes on Admin Access:
- Users with Level 8 access will not be able to modify their own user account from the administration screen.
- Only users with Level 9 access can view and modify their own settings.
- Use caution when assigning a manager a user level of 9, as this grants full self-management privileges.
Admin Interface Options: Steps 2–5
- Single long settings list — Unlike eDialer, the admin interface option in VICIdial is displayed as one continuous list of settings rather than grouped sections.
- Built-in help tooltips — Click the circle with a question mark (?) next to any field to open a pop-up box explaining what that field is for.
- Drop-down values — On drop-down settings, a value of 1 means active and 0 means inactive.
- Explore privileges and restrictions — Navigate through these settings to review and configure the privileges and restrictions available for each user.
